  • Completed the first two cycles of the Trailblazers, our innovative leadership development program with 14 people graduating from the program in December 2002 and another 16 in November of 2003.
  • Sampled the organization to determine the frequency and quality of career discussion; developed training for accountable managers to improve the effectiveness of these discussions.
  • Updated the Inco Employee Development web site to explain more career options.
  • Participated as a sponsor of The Judy Project: An Enlightened Leadership Forum for Executive Women.
  • Canadian operations will review employee training with a focus on improving the effectiveness of our investment in training.
  • Thompson Operations will further develop their initiatives to support existing employees to apprentice in trades.
  • The Voisey’s Bay project will implement both the Women’s Employment plan and the Innu, Inuit and Métis Human Resources Strategy.
  • PT Inco will develop a two-day program of front-line supervisors to assist employees to be more effective on the job.
